STATEMENT OF RACIAL INJUSTICE & VIOLENCE
As the founders of the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners and International Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, we wish to strongly condemn the senseless, violent murder of George Floyd as well as the murders of the many Black men, women, and children who tragically have lost their lives as a result of racism and hatred. We share the grief of these losses and send our deepest condolences to all who are hurting.
The NCCDP and ICCDP stand with and for justice, safety, diversity, equality, and dignity FOR ALL. The last few weeks have brought us horrific anger and pain and we stand united in denouncing racism, hatred, inhumanity, and senseless violence.
This is a pivotal time in our country to foster the discussions that although may be difficult, are necessary. As two companies that are founded on providing education, the NCCDP and ICCDP are committed to being a part of educating and healing our communities. In the words of the late, Dr. Martin Luther King, "Let us rise up tonight with a greater readiness. Let us stand with greater determination. And let us move on in these powerful days, these days of challenge, to make America what it ought to be." #Blacklivesmatter
